How to Implement a New Year Reset with 7 Rituals ?

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Hello Cool Girls ! As 2025 approaches, like every New Year, we feel this need for renewal. The month of January is the perfect time to lay the foundation for a prosperous and peaceful year. Perhaps you have new resolutions, projects you want to accomplish, or simply want to start this year on a clean slate and emit positive energy. Here’s my easy 7 rituals guide to a successful New Year Reset:

1. A big cleaning day for a New Year Reset

Cleaning your space is a tangible way to sweep away the past and welcome the new. Vacuum and mop to banish dust, and open your windows and doors to let fresh energy flow through your home. Even on a chilly day, a few minutes of fresh air can work wonders. To complete your cleansing ritual, light a white candle to purify your space or burn incense to purify your space.

2. Create a 2025 Vision Board

A new year reset is all about intentions! What do you want from this year? Start a training? Travel? Find a fulfilling relationship? Take some time to write a list of everything you want to accomplish in the medium or long term and detail the path to get there. For example, if you want to become an actor, you’ll first need to take acting classes, audition, listen to feedback, be resilient in the face of rejection, and be persistent, etc.

Once you’ve detailed all this, find photos that represent this path, not just the end result. I like to use Pinterest. Secondly, open Canva and arrange all your photos to create a vision board. I like to make it into a phone and computer wallpaper. Every time you look at your phone, you’ll be reminded of why you get up every morning. Don’t try to overload your vision board with photos; they should be eye-catching.

3. Organise a Release Ceremony for a New Year Reset

Say goodbye to everything you want to leave behind in 2024 during a release ceremony. Grab a pen and a few small pieces of paper and write down everything you want to leave there: your toxic job, toxic relationships, scarcity mindset, overconsumptionBe intentional when writing; feel like all the negativity related to what you want to leave is physically going onto the paper. Finally you are going to rip it into small pieces and drop it into a large bowl and say out loud, “I release it.”

4. Make Spiritual Cleansing Bath to Clear your Aura

Did you know that your aura can absorb external energies, both positive and negative? That’s why it’s important to regularly do an energetic cleansing. My favorite way is a spiritual bath because it combines the useful with the pleasant. On January 1st, draw yourself a hot bath to cleanse the energies of 2024; then, with intention, pour purifying elements into it. You can use Epsom salt, chamomile, rosemary, or eucalyptus. During the bath, visualize the negative energy of 2024 leaving your aura. When you get out of the bath, visualize again the negative energy stagnating in the water and then leaving through the drain. Now you are purified for the new year !

5. Move your body

Plan, during the very first week of the new year, a sports session or a simple walk in nature. Beyond the beneficial connection with your body and the Earth, it’s an excellent way to start the year on a healthy footing. The excesses of the end-of-year festivities can sometimes weigh down the body and slow down the digestive system. Physical exercise, even light exercise, will help restart energy circulation and dispel any feeling of stagnation. The goal is absolutely not to set performance goals or achieve any physical transformations, but simply to give yourself a precious moment, entirely dedicated to your mental well-being. The important thing is to move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

6. Make a Digital Cleaning

Here’s something new I’m going to start doing… if, like me, you spend an indecent amount of time on your phone every day, you may have noticed it’s a mess. Old notes, grocery lists, screenshots that no longer make sense… I’ve already started my digital cleaning:

  • deleting apps I no longer use
  • cleaning my photos cleaning my notes
  • unfollowing content creators who no longer inspire me
  • deleting emails

7. Create a Gratitude List about 2024 for a New Year Reset

Yes, even though 2024 was a tough year for a lot of us. There’s always:

  • yourself
  • hope
  • someone dear
  • new dreams
  • new lessons
  • your potential
